Lizette, Leticia, Kelly, Luis, and Maria have all taken steps to advance education within the Jewish community in Fort Bend, TX. Lizette has devoted nearly two decades to education, serving as a classroom teacher, level director, dean of students, founding director, leadership coach, and regional leader in public and charter schools in New York and Philadelphia. She has collaborated with elected officials, community organizations, grassroots and grassroots leaders, business chambers, universities, and state and federal entities to combine policies with programs and improve opportunities for historically marginalized communities. She is also heavily influenced by her experiences as a first-generation queer woman navigating educational spaces that weren't designed for her communities and her desire to build a world where the children in her communities don't have to make decisions based on fear or guilt. These individuals have taken various initiatives to promote education within the Jewish community in Fort Bend, TX. Lizette has worked to provide accurate and unbiased educational resources about Jews, Judaism and Israel. She has also offered guidance to help Jewish students and their families be successful.
Luis has become increasingly interested in influencing education by addressing problems in his hometown of Boston. Maria has worked to create educational opportunities for historically marginalized communities.
