Eagle Scout Project has CBE going "GaGa"

Boy Scouts Of America

CBE GOES “GAGA”

People are going “GAGA” over a new arrival at CBE.  It’s not a boy or a girl.  Look next to the playground and you will see the new Gaga Pit.  Gaga an Israeli form of dodge ball is played in an enclosed court with short walls and a sand bottom.  GAGA means “hit, hit”.  The object is to hit the ball with your hand at another player.  Any player that is touched by the ball from the knee down is “out” and must step out of the court.  The last player untouched by the bouncing ball is the winner!

THE PIT” was the idea of CBE member Ross Meyer.  Ross, a Boy Scout for local Troop 1631, developed plans and implemented the building of the Gaga Pit at our synagogue for his Boy Scout Eagle Project.

Ross said “I wanted to build this project to benefit all of the members and kids of CBE and our preschool.  The preschool students will be able to play during the day at ‘THE PIT’.  The religious school students have never had a place to play during break from classes.  This “pit” would give the older kids a fun place to meet and play.  Even the adults of our congregation can meet and play Gaga.  Families could plan a picnic on our grounds and play Gaga.”.

Ross and the entire Meyer family would like to thank the hard working volunteers who participated in this project, and the many donors whose names you will see engraved in the walls of “The Pit.”

Special recognition goes to corporate sponsors:

Houston Fence Company, Kid Structures, Inc., Eddie’s Welding, Shipley’s and Papa Johns Pizza.

The entire Congregation is invited to the dedication ceremony;
