BEFTY
Beth El Federation of Temple Youth is our youth group for students in grades
nine through twelve.
BEFTY is part of NFTY – the North American Federation of Temple Youth,
the youth arm of the URJ. BEFTY offers our students a wide range of activities
throughout the course of the school. Students get together for social functions,
help lead Shabbat Services, organize a Yom Kippur food drive, plan their own
Passover Seder, and attend many regional retreats and conclaves with students
from throughout Texas and Oklahoma. BEFTY holds annual elections in order to
select its Board to plan and lead programs in the upcoming school year.
The URJ Greene Family Camp, located in Bruceville, Texas near Waco, is the
center of the BEFTY universe. This is where students from NFTY-TOR, the
Texas/Oklahoma region of NFTY come together during the summer months as well
as on weekends during the school year for social and educational programming.
BEFTY is open to all students in high school and we encourage new membership.
