Please Consider a Donation to Congregation Beth El!
I donate to CBE . . .
. . . to honor or thank a friend or relative,
. . . to remember loved ones and friends,
. . . to celebrate a special occasion,
. . . to support our congregation's mission,
. . . to leave a legacy.
I support CBE because it is . . .
. . . our point of Jewish connection,
. . . a place of spirituality and learning, where people reach out to each other during times of celebration and sadness,
. . . a place committed to repairing our world, one kind word and deed at a time.
I am connected to CBE because I've found something significant here . . .
. . . caring clergy, staff and teachers,
. . . relationships and community.
I can mail or call in my contribution to . . .
Congregation Beth El, 3900 Raoul Wallenberg Lane, Missouri City, TX, 77459; 281-499-5066 .

We hope that you are enjoying this new “tradition” in our temple family!
So please mark your calendars (September 3; October 1; and more dates to come!) ; and thank you in advance for allowing us to share in your Simcha!
5771 High Holiday Shofar workshop -- please join us!
Shofar blasters are needed for the 5771 High Holiday season!
All ages may attend; it is not necessary (though desirable) that you own a Shofar.
Shofar training began on Sunday, August 8 (12:00-1:00) and will continue every Sunday in August (all training sessions will be held at CBE).
Shofar blasters will then have the honor of participating in the following services:
1. S'lichot (September 4: 7:00-9:00 film, discussion and service)
2. 1st day Rosh Hashanah (September 9: 10:00-12:00 morning service; 4:00-4:45 family service)
3. 2nd day Rosh Hashanah (September 10: 10:00-12:00 morning service)
4. Yom Kippur (September 18: 4:00-4:45 family service; 6:30-7:00 Ne'ilah service)
Please contact Rochelle Cabe (rochelle.cabe@gmail.com) if you are available to learn and participate in the above services.
Thank you for helping make the upcoming High Holiday season a special one for all!

Linear text study resumes on Sunday, September 12!
Friends, we’re looking forward to another meaningful year of linear text study at CBE!
Starting Sunday, September 12 (9:45-10:45), please join us in the temple library as we continue our line-by-line study of Tanakh!
Approximately twice a month (please consult your CBE calendar for dates and times), we’ll be working through the text of 2nd Samuel (this is where we “paused” this past spring).
For years, congregants have delighted in this morning treat; a chance to read and discuss every verse of text before us.
We look forward to more of the same in 5771; see you on Sunday mornings!
